Cancellation Policy
Cancellation of an appointment:

In order to be respectful of other patients' needs, please be courteous and call our office promptly if you are unable to attend an appointment. This time will be given to someone who is in urgent need of treatment. For appointments canceled less than 24 hours in advance, a $25 fee for each half-hour of the scheduled appointment will be charged.

No-Show Policy:

A no-show is an appointment that was not canceled and no notice or explanation was given for the missed visit. No-shows inconvenience other patients who need dental care and can cost the practice money. This ultimately increases costs. A $25 fee for each half-hour of the scheduled appointment will be charged.

Additional Q&A on Cancellation Fees:

"My dentist does not have missed appointment fees. Why do you?"

Great Lakes Endodontics is proud of the quality of patient care that we provide. We strive to respect each patients' time and we ask the same courtesy of you. We will not compromise the service and quality of patient care. There are two options for our practice when a patient no-shows for an appointment. The first choice is for the practice to sit idle and absorb staff costs, rent, utilities, and the doctor's time with no offsetting revenue. The second option, which GLE refuses to consider, is to over-book the schedule. We do not like over-booked schedules and we're sure you don't either. This typically means a hectic dentist schedule, hectic staff schedules, long waits for the patient, and rushed patient care.

"You probably rarely have cancellations. How much could that cost you?"

If only that were true! We may experience three or four last minute cancellations or no-shows a week. That may mean 20% of our day's schedule. Unfortunately, 20% is a huge loss of revenue and could quickly turn a profitable practice into an unprofitable practice.

"I had to work late and can no longer make it to my appointment. Are you really going to charge me?"

We are sorry, but yes. By cancelling last minute, we do not have enough time to schedule another patient. We have reserved the doctor and staff specifically for you. If your employer kept you over and you had concert tickets, the band would not hold the show. Many patients ask us to understand their specific situation when they can not make an appointment last minute - and we do listen - but please consider our point of view.

"No one called me to remind me of my appointment. Do I still have to pay?"

Yes. Great Lakes Endodontics goes to great lengths to provide courtesy reminders. We do not want you to forget about your appointment, but once you are scheduled with us, it is ultimately your responsibility to keep your appointment or to cancel within the allotted time frame.

Thank you for understanding! We value you!
